The Gap Between Theory and Practice: Examining the Curricular Reality of an Intercultural English Program in Mexico
Resumen
The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual coverage of courses, objectives and contents of the three basic levels of the Intercultural and Interdisciplinary English Program of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in the post-pandemic period. In the context of the application of an action research paradigm to the evaluation and monitoring of the instrumentation of this program over the last ten years, a quantitative study was carried out based on an ad hoc survey administered to a random sample of undergraduate students during 2024. The results reveal a significant gap in the coverage of the parameters originally established by the current curricular model, reflecting a marked heterogeneity in teaching practices after the COVID-19 pandemic. The main pedagogical implications derived from these results are discussed.Descargas
