El diferencial semántico: un espacio universal de orden psicológico

Abstract

An examination of the semantic differential (DS), a technique for measuring meaning and universal psychological space, is the purpose of this work. Its importance is attributed to the possibility of demonstrating that people situate their opinions in three factors of semantic space, denominated evaluation, potency and activity. In that sense, the retrieval of discursive manifestations of subjectivity in the context of the measurement of meaning has constituted the beginning of investigations focused on the nature of public discourse as part of the scientific history of sociolinguistics since the middle of the twentieth century.
