Abstract

This article addresses the topic of political discourse and the dynamics in which distinct individuals or groups of individuals attempt to maintain their particular political agendas and aims. Its purpose is to contribute to the understanding of relations between the macro and micro levels of discourse. It focuses on the intratextual and interdiscursive features of examined fragments of the discourse that prevailed in newspaper media concerning the acceptance or refusal of the decision of the Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional to march towards Mexico City demanding constitutional acknowledgement of civil rights for indigenous groups during the year 2001.
