The cinematographic trailer in the development of listening comprehension strategies in English as a foreign language

Abstract

This paper underlines the importance of designing activities that foster listening comprehension skills using movie trailers. The main objective of the worksheets described is to improve the students’ bottom-up and top-down information processing strategies. The rationale for the utilization of trailers is related to the relevance of introducing authentic materials and videos in the English as a foreign language classroom.
