Sobre el papel de la intencionalidad del hablante en la determinación de lo dicho al enunciar una oración

Abstract

The importance of speaker’s intentions in uttering a sentence was highlighted by Paul Grice when he used it for distinguishing “natural meaning” (eg., “those spots mean measles”) from “non-natural meaning” (where linguistic meaning is situated). Relating this to the distinction Said/implicated (also by Grice), we find in the literature that some authors deny any role of speaker’s intentions in what is said when uttering a sentence. This article argues the opposite, by postulating the hypothesis of an utterer’s “dual m-intention”.
