Lengua, dialecto y medios: unidad internacional y variación local del español
Abstract
Broadly defused languages, like Spanish, enjoy diverse variations. In the international space common to Spanish, such as that covered by radio and television, the most sought after variants are those enjoying the largest audience, although criteria are often subjective. To make decisions in this matter, the article offers proposals based on dispersion criteria (eg. The number of countries that use a given norm) and of population (number of speakers). To exemplify: the phonetic norms described are those that are most frequently heard internationally, and cases of lexical variation are presented. It is concluded that the media, because it is to their advantage, promote national and international standardization.Downloads
