Lenguaje y poética teatral: Réquiem por Yarini.

  • Alina Gutiérrez Grova

Abstract

Building upon her observation that the theatre has, in the course of its history, established its own tradition of linguistic reflection, the author studies the relationship between the metalinguistic and poetic functions in Réquiem por Yarini, a work by the Cuban playwright Carlos Felipe. She concludes that the first of these functions addresses the sociolinguistic situation of the world represented and the stylistic and rhetorical status of the text, as well as contributing to character construction and the orientation of audience response.
